The Department of Defense announced
today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. David V. Williams, 24, of
Frederick, Md., died Aug. 18, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The cause of death is under investigation. He
was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade
Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
