Iraqi Forces Detain 6 Terrorism Suspects

June 1, 2010 - Iraqi forces detained six criminal suspects in recent operations in Iraq, military officials reported.

In southwestern Baghdad yesterday, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member and a suspected criminal associate.

On May 30, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested three suspected associates of the Khataib Hezbollah terrorist organization in eastern Baghdad while searching for a suspected member of the group who is believed to be responsible for facilitating transportation of weapons to central Iraq.

South of Baghdad on May 30, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member who allegedly has close ties to the organization's senior leadership.
